Sometimes love proves sweeter than revenge… even for a 15th century vampire. Cassandra Blake is having a very bad day. Her fiancé dumps her for a silicone debutant and convinces her to store his boxes of precious research. If that wasn’t bad enough, she’s just moved into a cottage stocked with only sardines, peaches, and 50 year old Scotch. Heartbroken, hungry, and a little bit drunk, Cassandra soon realizes that just when she thinks things can’t get any worse, sometimes they can get very strange…like finding a skeleton in the basement of her newly inherited cottage. But when that skeleton suddenly becomes a hot, romantic, and business savvy vampire named Varo…well, things start looking up. That is…until his infamous older brother shows up, and their centuries old sibling rivalry threatens her chance at true love. Can their love survive her conniving ex-fiancé, his vengeful brother, and the Curse of the Seven 70s?
This book is a really fun take on vampires and the modern Dracula. I enjoyed the playful interaction between Cassandra and Vero and found Cassandra’s personality to be quite enjoyable. You see, she may not be the smartest character in the world but really, this is what adds to her charm. The relationship between the two develops rather quickly which is usually a turn off for me, but I suppose when one finds their soulmate that it could happen as quick as it did for these two. Overall, this is a very fun vampire/romance story and I wouldn’t mind reading more books by the author in the future.
The book is about a woman named Cassandra who is dumped by her ex- boyfriend Howard. Apparently, he has been cheating on her for a long time now but she never realized it until it was literally thrown in her face. So Cassandra moves into her dead aunts house for some much needed relaxation and because frankly, she has nowhere else to go. But when she is putting boxes down in the basement (or throwing them) she notices some bones. To her surprise, these bones belong to a centuries old vampire named Varo. The two quickly fall for one another, but this is not without drama getting in their way. Enter Vlad the Impaler, a couple of dead ex’s and some fun!
If you enjoy a good, fun, fluffy read than this is your book. I really enjoyed it and I think many other readers would too.
