Are people born pure?
Is evil learned, or is it birthed into one's soul, like a fallen angel who was previously part of graciousness?
Rhys is decayed, black, and bad. He cut distortion out of his life years before, but he let her live; his only way to gain redemption once more.
As his sinful needs blanket him with dread, he seeks penance from the soul he saw as a second chance.
Is absolution too late for Rhys?
Woah. What did I just read? This book is more sick and twisted than a lot of dark romances out there! The author of this book takes readers into the mind of a dark and depraved man who comes from a horrible past. But in his past, he had one thing of salvation and that was his step sister Wren. But his past changed him. It turned him into a murderous monster who will stop at nothing to see the blood drain from his victim’s body. Even though Rhys is a killer, he does seem to have a bit of a softer side. Although this is hard to see, it’s pretty clear because he is obsessed with his childhood love, Wren. So he kills thinking of her… Always.
This is a very disturbing book and I have to admit it wasn’t exactly what I was expecting. But I guess I should have been warned by the cover! This one goes much darker and deeper than the other dark romances out there. Everything Rhys does is for a reason though and I can see some readers sympathizing with his character (to a point). I guess you’ll have to read this one to really understand what I mean.
Overall, this is a great book. It is very fast paced and you will get through the story fast. I read this one in one sitting. If you enjoy the darker side of books than I suggest digging into this one. Just don’t mind the sick feeling you get in the pit of your stomach at the depravity of Rhys!
