Overall Rating: 6 stars
From strip clubs and truck stops to southern coast mansions and prep schools, one girl tries to stay true to herself.
These Royals will ruin you…
Ella Harper is a survivor—a pragmatic optimist. She’s spent her whole life moving from town to town with her flighty mother, struggling to make ends meet and believing that someday she’ll climb out of the gutter. After her mother’s death, Ella is truly alone.
Until Callum Royal appears, plucking Ella out of poverty and tossing her into his posh mansion among his five sons who all hate her. Each Royal boy is more magnetic than the last, but none as captivating as Reed Royal, the boy who is determined to send her back to the slums she came from.
Reed doesn’t want her. He says she doesn’t belong with the Royals.
He might be right.
Wealth. Excess. Deception. It’s like nothing Ella has ever experienced, and if she’s going to survive her time in the Royal palace, she’ll need to learn to issue her own Royal decrees.
OMG- I LOVED this book. It truly has EVERYTHING that I have been craving in a book for a while now; a sassy heroine who is extremely strong willed and smart even though she is young, a bad boy who is incredibly mean in the beginning but totally loveable as the story develops, and some amazing family members who have their share of issues but still become favorites to readers. Erin Watt has knocked my socks off with this story and the cliffhanger in the end leaves me in dire need for more. Right away I purchased book 2 (which is available now) because I need to see what is going to happen. Obviously, if you can tell by my excitement, I have found a new favorite author and book. This is a MUST READ. Readers beware, there are some serious jaw dropping moments with this book. You will easily come addicted to the Royal family, and you will love EVERY SECOND.
So this story is about Ella as she navigates being a part of a new (and filthy rich) family after her mother passes away. Callum Royal- her new guardian, whisks Ella away from a life of poverty when his best friend (and her unknown father Steve) dies. In the beginning, Ella has no desire to be a part of the Royals, after all, she doesn’t know them, she never knew her father, and the 5 boys who will essentially become her “step-brothers” don’t want her there. But Ella manages to get over her need too runaway because Callum is offering her a life she could have only dreamed of. Further, while it takes some time, the boys are able to welcome her into the family because of her feisty nature and because she is absolutely loyal. But getting close to the Royals comes at a cost. And Ella may be left in the dust if she doesn’t navigate her new relationships carefully…. (This is all I way say in terms of plot because I don’t want to ruin it for anyone).
Obviously, I freakin loved this book. It is addicting and readers can easily become obsessed with the story, the characters, and everything else with this book. I haven’t read an AMAZING story in a while now but this one showed me that there are some GREAT gems out there. So yea, I definitely recommend this book to ALL romance readers and I can’t WAIT to read book 2.
