LOVE WILL FIND A WAY
Gabriela O’Brien is devoted to the girls at Briarwood Academy—even when their bad behavior earns them an entire summer at a remote campground in Echo Lake, Vermont. When the headmaster assigns Gabi to be their chaperone, how can she refuse? A long, hot summer with neither indoor plumbing nor wireless access might be just what she needs to get her own life in order…right?
Before Briarwood took over Camp Echo, Luke Magellan spent years there helping troubled boys. When four spoiled rich girls and their seemingly uptight den mother show up for the summer, it’s hard to hide his amusement as he watches them tackle the great outdoors. But it’s even tougher to resist the passion he sees in Gabi—especially when he learns about her past, and sees how much she cares about her students. Is this destined to be just a grownup version of a summer-camp romance—or can they find enough in common to build a love for all seasons.
She’s Got a Way is another beautiful, sweet, and classy romance from one of my favorite authors, Maggie McGinnis. While I was reading, I fell in love with Echo Lake all over again. The town is filled with the most charmingly real characters, and each have touched my heart in many ways. This one in particular though is by far my favorite book of this series. I absolutely loved everything about it. The plot, the characters, the blooming love story, and the beautiful scenery. Maggie McGinnis knows how to bring her readers into a story and she does a fine job of describing the setting- gosh, I wish there was an Echo Lake in my town! With that being said, I think everyone should pick up a book by Maggie McGinnis. If you do, you are guaranteed to find yourself in a beautiful place surrounded by charming people and heart melting love.
This addition to the Echo Lake series (which can be read as a standalone) tells the love story between Luke and Gabi. Luke is the director of a boy’s camp right on Echo Lake and Gabi is the “housemother” to the girls at Briarwood Academy- a place that caters to rich teenage girls. Both Luke and Gabi love their jobs. But both are in for a surprise when Gabi is forced to take 4 of her girls to camp Echo when they are caught doing bad things. Thankfully for these three girls, the boys camp is closed for “renovations” for the summer so they won’t have to be surrounded by hormonal delinquents. However, these girls must navigate their own lives and relationships in order to get back on the right track. With Luke and Gabi’s help, this can all happen. But when a fire ignites, and secrets about what is happening to the camp come to light, they have to fight some demons they never expected.
Overall, this is a wonderful and heartwarming story. Every time I pick up a book by Maggie I know I am in for a beautiful ride. She never disappoints in her writing and I always end up falling in love with the characters and Echo Lake. In addition to this, this series is one that I can read forever and ever. I honestly hope that the author will continue with it because I always look forward to the next installment. With that being said, I highly recommend this book. In fact, I recommend ALL of Maggie’s books!
