This is the perfect chick lit novel to start off summer! Reading it outside on a warm beautiful day with an ice coffee by my side… ah just PERFECT. I have always been a fan of chick lit novels because they are typically light, breezy, hilarious, fun, and dashed with a bit of dramatics to make it interesting (nothing too over the top though). Did this book meet all these qualifications? YES! This is a lovely feel good novel with interesting characters you are guaranteed to fall in love with. Frankie is a girl after my own heart- and while my husband hasn’t left me to see if the grass is greener on the other side, I totally found myself relating to her and her own personal growth. This beautiful story is told in 3 different point of views, so while we do get a wonderful story with Frankie, the other two characters also show a lot of promise and add a bit more flavor to the story. If you are a fan of chick lit than this is the perfect book to escape to. I know I will be watching for more of the authors novels in the future. I simply cannot get enough!
This story follows Frankie right after her and her husband separate. Somewhere along the line, Frankie and Jason have lost their magic and Jason can’t seem to get out of his funk. She he basically sets off to find himself. On this journey though we follow Frankie post breakup as she actually finds herself and begins to love the person that she is- inside and out. In doing so she also decides to team up with her best friend’s brother to get back on the sexual bandwagon so to speak in order to win back her husband. But Frankie doesn’t bet on what’s going to happen after she starts this journey… Will she get her husband back? Or will Frankie see another side to love?
This is a lovely, fun, and exciting chick lit novel that kept me interested from start to finish. The second I finished this book I immediately started missing Frankie. She’s just an all-around loveable character. The writing style of this book is just as perfect as the plot and characters. It’s pretty clear that the author knows what she is doing AND what her readers want. Overall, I highly recommend this novel and can’t wait to read what the author comes up with next!
