I have a history of picking the wrong guy. Gay? Player? Momma’s boy? Check, check and check.
Now I can’t stop fantasizing about one of the customers at the coffee shop I work at between classes. It’s just a harmless crush, right? It’s not like I ever see this guy outside of the coffee shop. It’s not like I’m going to see him while attempting to get birth control at the student clinic. While wearing a paper gown. While sitting on an exam table. Because he’s the doctor. Shoot. Me.
But what if, for once, the man I’ve had the dirtiest, most scandalous fantasies about turned out to be everything but wrong?
Jana Aston has made me an instant fan girl!!! I loved this book A LOT. And if it’s wrong then I don’t want to be right! I can’t believe it took me this long to pick up a copy. It’s got EVERYTHING I was hoping for and more. It’s forbidden, funny, sexy, and completely entertaining from page 1 all the way until the end. Sophie (our lead heroine of the story) is completely charming and probably one of my favorite heroines EVER. That’s saying a lot, I know, but I feel like she and I have many similarities. She is a total dork but fun and sassy. She’s got a mouth on her that will make just about anyone laugh, and she clearly has a head on her shoulders (although some of the stuff she does it a bit wacky). How did Sophie find her HEA you wonder? In her gynecologist appointment, that’s where! LOL. This is a definite MUST READ story. After getting about half way though I immediately went ahead and picked up the next book in the series which tells the story of one of the secondary characters in this book who I feel in love with the minute I “met” her. If you haven’t had a chance to read this one, I highly recommend it – very highly -.
What Worked for Me
This book has a lot going for it. It has a forbidden relationship (which I didn’t expect) that although seems a little farfetched, adds such a uniqueness to the story that it’s hard to care whether its believable or not. Many stories out there that feature naughty doctors are completely erotic, but this one HAS a story.
Our hero of the story is the gynecologist that turns Sophie’s work upside down. From the exam orgasm (I laughed by butt off here) to the naughty things that come out of his mouth, readers are sure to be charmed by him. He is not really your typical bad boy hero. He’s older, wiser, and has a job that stands out from the others in romance novels. Not only that though, he is the type of hero that knows what he wants and doesn’t let things stand in his way. I really loved him and wish he had more stories featuring him in it.
Sophie (the heroine) is your typical college student. She’s ready to graduate and get on with her life as an adult. Of course, she also turns out to be a virgin, and as that goes, she is pretty naïve when it comes to sex. Yea, she wants to lose her virginity but she’s not stuck up about it and she’s certainly not hoity toity and proper. She is just an overall, well rounded, and fun character. I absolutely adored her!
The relationship in this one is HOT. When the two get together it’s like fireworks exploding. Sure, its forbidden because he’s the older doctor in this upper thirties and she is only 21, but somehow the two of them just work together. And their banter? Friggin hilarious!
What Didn’t Work for Me
I have to say, there was really nothing about this book that bothered me in any way. In fact, I loved every single thing about it! This is a hard feat because normally there will be some annoying aspect to a book whether it be a character of situation that grates on readers nerves, but this one had none of it. YAY!!!
Overall, this is a great read and one that I highly recommend to all. Now I can’t wait to sail through Jana’s other books because if they are anything like this one than I will read them ALL.
