♥ ♥ Pretty Little Review ♥ ♥
This is a fun pack of short holiday stories! Each one featured is told by a different author- some very popular ones I might add, and is sure to spice up your holiday season! I absolutely love these types of holiday books as we get all different stories wrapped in one! This collection of stories if definitely a hit so I recommend picking it up. More about each one:
Christmas Bonus by Lori Foster: This story is about two coworkers who have been pining for each other since they were 17 years old. Years later, after taking over her father’s company the two rekindle long lost flames. Who would have expected for the Christmas bonus to be this good? à This is quite the spicy little story that is sure to make readers blush. I loved every minute of it. Lori Foster sure knows how to work those pages! Delicious! While I could definitely see this story being a full length novel I think Foster does a wonderful job making it a short and sexy tale. (4/5 stars)
Naughty Under the Mistletoe: This story is about a lawyer who kisses a man she thought was her boss, under the mistletoe. Little did she know that this wasn’t her boss but instead his twin brother! Things start to get naughty when the two go on a date and play a little “get to know me” game while shooting pool. Will the two fall hopelessly in love? Or will they part ways when the mistletoe is put away? à This is another cute and fun story for the holidays even if it is a bit unrealistic. I will say though that the interactions between the two characters is quite funny. I had to laugh a little at their actions. (4/5 stars)
Some Kind of Wonderful: This story is about an injured marine named Zach and his best friend, Maya, as they reconnect over the holidays. When Zach was overseas during the war he was getting letter from a woman named Giselle (friend of Mayas). However, it turns out that Giselle wasn’t too good at writing letters so Maya did it for her. Over the course of this time she slowly started to fall for her old friend. So when they come together sparks fly. But it won’t be easy. Zach has lost a lot from being in the war and he doesn’t know if his heart can recover. Will the two be able to find their way? Or will Zach’s memories keep him from happiness? à This is probably the best book of the bunch. It is very realistic and very beautifully written. I loved the story behind both of the characters and their interactions. I could see this story being a full length novel as well. (5/5 stars)
Have Yourself a Curvy Little Christmas: This story is about a woman named Dina who goes searching for her son’s father after they left them. But instead of finding his father, she meets his brother, Ben. At first, Ben appears to be a brooding man who will never find happiness. But once he gets to know Dina and her son Dash he knows that love and family are as important as breathing. Can the two become one? Or will the demons from his past keep him from everlasting happiness? à I really enjoyed this story. I found Dina to be quite hilarious and fun, and Ben to be quite charming once his character opened up. I also kept rooting them on- wishing and hoping these two could find happiness with each other. Ahh, the miracle of Christmas can do so much for people! A wonderful story- another favorite from this bunch!
Overall, I really loved this book. I liked the stories (even though some were unrealistic) and felt the need to know more about the characters. If you’re looking for a fun, spicy, and romantic holiday read than I suggest checking out this book. You won’t be disappointed!
