any martinis, the strangers begin to play a game of truth, revealing very intimate details about themselves. Ted talks about his marriage that’s going stale and his wife Miranda, who he’s sure is cheating on him. Ted and his wife were a mismatch from the start—he the rich businessman, she the artistic free spirit—a contrast that once inflamed their passion, but has now become a cliché...
But their game turns a little darker when Ted jokes that he could kill Miranda for what she’s done. Lily, without missing a beat, says calmly, “I’d like to help.” After all, some people are the kind worth killing, like a lying, stinking, cheating spouse. . . .
Back in Boston, Ted and Lily’s twisted bond grows stronger as they begin to plot Miranda's demise. But there are a few things about Lily’s past that she hasn’t shared with Ted, namely her experience in the art and craft of murder, a journey that began in her very precocious youth.
Suddenly these co-conspirators are embroiled in a chilling game of cat-and-mouse, one they both cannot survive . . . with a shrewd and very determined detective on their tail.
OMG this book is so damn good! It's probably the closet book that I have read to Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn and that's saying something because nearly every thriller is compared to that book! WOW! This book is quite the mind f*uck and told is a hypnotic and engrossing way. I truly loved reading every second of it. Peter Swanson is a new author to me but based on this book I can see myself eagerly picking up every single book he writes. Fans of psychological thrillers, suspense, and crime would be the perfect type of readers for this book. And for those who want to go out of their comfort zone I would highly recommend giving The Kind Worth Killing a try. It will leave your mind reeling, thats for sure!
So, what's this book about? Without giving too much away (because it is so much better than the synopsis describes) it's about two strangers who meet at an airport bar and start discussing the murder of ones wife. Now it's one thing just talking about it, but another thing to actually plan and execute it.
Plans are set in motion after this fateful meeting but no one will quite expect the more sinister things lurking beneath the surface. And what happens next will not only shock readers to their core but make them become instant fans of Peter Swanson's storytelling...
Overall, this is a fantastic book and I would HIGHLY recommend it to everyone who loves a novel filled with psychological suspense and thrills. I can't quite wrap my head around it but this book SHOULD be made into a movie. Gah! So good! Grab your copy!
