Genre: Cozy Mystery
I really love cozy mysteries! I guess it's the sleuth in me- I love looking for clues and finding the suspects! Another thing about these books are that they are lighthearted and just plain fun. There isn't any unnecessary drama and there is always a happy ending. I appreciate these books even more due to the fact that I am always reading these crazy romances with enough emotion to keep me sated for a year! So it's nice to get lost in a book like this.
With that, A Second Helping of Murder quenched my thirst for a good cozy mystery and I really enjoyed getting to know Trixie (the amateur sleuth) more. This is the second book in the series so make sure to read the first book - Do or Diner- first to understand where Trixie came from and how she came to own the Silver Bullet Diner.
In this book, readers will help Trixie and Deputy Ty Brisco discover what happened to an old friend many years ago while solving not one but TWO murders. Trixie is a smart and sassy sleuth and takes crap from no one- not even the handsome detective who she has no intention of catching feeling for...
Readers who like the genre and those who are looking to start into it would probably love this one! It's filled with a great cast of characters, delicious and vividly portrayed country home cookin', and a murder that will keep you guessing until the very end.
