Read my Book Review
Release Date: May 30, 2017
Genre: Contemporary. Second Chance Romance.
Aww! This is such a sweet and charming second chance romance and I read it from cover to cover with a big smile on my face. It's one of those books that make readers feel rewarded by just reading it. Sigh, I loved it so much that I didn't want it to end! I can't wait to see where the author takes the series next because I have a serious crush on a few of the secondary characters who I know have a beautiful love story in the making!
With that, Devney Perry is a fairly new author as she only has one other book besides this one under her belt (which is another 5 star read) called The Coppersmith Farmhouse. Be that as it may though she is some serious competition to even seasoned romance authors because her books deliver! You get all the feels when reading and none of them are bad. For instance, I was charmed, delighted, swooned, and downright happy with everything in this book. The characters are beautifully written, their situation is a unique one, and the plot is not riddled with sex (which to me takes away from the romance). So that's all a plus. In addition to this, I adored how the author presented the situation and felt it to be realistic even though it probably would be unrealistic in real life. This to me screams "pro" for the author and I couldn't be more happy with the novel as a whole.
Now for the story: Imagine meeting the love of your life- the man you fall hard for in mere hours- and having him leave you for 10 years. Sure, their meeting was a whirlwind and they didn't know each other for more than a handful of hours before they got hitched, but they way they felt for one another in that little time was undeniable. Fast forward 10 years and a move, the two once again come face to face. The sparks are there, but the pain of missing the last 10 years together can't just be swept under the rug. But plans are set into motion and those fireworks end up exploding. It's not an easy road- there are many things to overcome- but once the road ends and decisions have to be made. Well... You'll see what happens if you read it.
Added into this beautiful romance is a little bit of suspense that will leave readers clinging to the pages. It doesn't take over the plot though so you don't have to worry about it being a romantic suspense because it truly isn't. But there is a little bit of drama added to the mix to keep things interesting.
Other than this, I would highly recommend this read to ALL romance junkies. It's sweet, classy, fun, and adorable. And the hero is bound to knock your socks off.
