I love reading Abbi Gline's work. I really and truly do. Her new adult romances are top notch and filled with characters that readers can easily fall in love with. And, as with each story line, there is always something totally dramatic about it (which can be really fun). This is no different with Take a Chance.
In this novel, readers will "meet" Grant and Harlow. Now, if you are familiar with the series (and are one of the few who haven't read it), then you should know that we briefly meet them in the previous books in the series. Grant is your typical male who refuses to settle down. Well, until he meets Harlow. Now this isn't necessarily because he's a manwhore. I think it's more because he's terrified of falling in love and losing the one he loves. In the previous books he actually comes off as one of the good guys (although truth be told, I didn't really feel these vibes within this book which was just sad). So reading his story was a lot of fun.
Harlow is the sweet and lovable sister of Nan (who is the WORST female heroine in the world). Everyone hates Nan. She is evil and devious and plain old rotten. To. The. Core. To make it worse? She's in this book quite a bit. Blech! But, it's not her story. It's Harlows. And she's keeping a major secret from Grant... Which sends their new romance into a tailspin...
Overall, I enjoyed this book and I love visiting with new characters from Rosemary Beach. And, while this one may not be my favorite one I can assure you that I will continue reading because I own the series AND because Abbi Glines is a great author.
