Holding Onto Forever is the first book in the spin off of the Beaumont series. It features the story of Noah and Peyton- two characters who were dearly loved when they were first met in the prior series. Overall, I liked this book. It has a very Gayle Forman feel to it and a plot that is extremely emotional and healing. The love story is unique, it spans many years in the making, and while it was very angsty it comes together very beautifully for readers. However, I think there was too much going on within the story and had the author only used one dramatic incident than I would have liked it better, I won't say what these incidents are because that would spoil it for all readers, but be prepared for a big BANG when it comes to the conflicts of the story.
Another thing that was really cool about Holding onto Forever is the family. I loved how the author incorporated the characters many have come to love in the previous series, so I think this will be very exciting for many. Playing catch-up with them is a huge part of the novel, and although it's emotional in nature, seeing the strong bond is unforgettable.
Readers who enjoyed the first Beaumont series are going to want to check this one out. Even those who haven't read the series will enjoy this one. That's how it was for me anyway, I never read the first series (but I do own it!) but enjoyed this on it's own.
