On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave.
In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs.
I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks.
And I most definitely should not be kissing my client.

Emma Hart has quickly become a favorite author of mine. Her stories, all widely unique in their own right, are perfectly balanced with humor and heart. It's no wonder why readers fall head over heels for her books. They stand apart, can make any type of reader smile from ear to ear, and touch the heart of anyone who dives in. In this one, readers will meet Miss Fix It, a woman who think she knows what she wants out of life but later finds out that her ideal was all wrong, and a single father who loves deeply and purely.
Being a huge sucker for stories featuring single parents -in this case, we have a single father of twins- I knew I was going to instantly fall in love. However, I didn't realize just how deep I would fall or how much I would become invested in these characters story. I loved the interactions between the Kali (she's Miss Fix It- builder extraordinaire) and Brantley. They just fit together like two puzzle pieces, and were a perfect match. But what stuck me the most was the developing relationship that Kali had with his kids especially considering how she never wanted them for herself. It touches your heart to see the changes take place within her and watching her grow into a mature woman.
Now, just because the story is touching and deeply heartfelt doesn't mean that the humor is lost in it. There were many moments where I found myself laughing out loud and many moments that had me almost rolling around on the floor because I couldn't stop the giggling. Emma Hart always adds the best humor in her novels and it's present in this one as well.
With that, Miss Fix it is an endearing, funny, and touching story about two people who unexpectedly come together. Love may not have been in the cards for these two, but as fate would have it, they can't stop it from happening. If you're a fan of Emma Hart, this is the next book you should be reading. Also, if you like single dads, women who take on a "man's world", and books with enough humor and heart to keep you satisfied, then this is the book for you.
