Sick Fux is one twisted read! It's sort of an dark retelling of Alice in Wonderland, although it's not marketed this way. Readers need to be warned before going into this one: it is dark to the EXTREME. It's a bit bizarre (Dolly and Rabbit that it) deals with very sensitive issues like child abuse, and contains lots of horrific and bloody moments. Viewer discretion for this book is advised. If you're squeamish, and have a hard time with abuse and rape then this book is NOT for you. However, if you have an open mind and like books about the most brutal types of vengeance then proceed down the rabbit hole...
I am blown away by this book simply because of the brutality and nature of what is happening. In some ways I found myself horrified because it really is a sick and twisted read, but I am also marveling at how the author was able to tell a story do dark in the way she did. I felt BAD for the characters and was HAPPY when they started their killing spree. I guess if I were in their shoes this is something I would want to do as well...
Now, I won't get into the plot on this one because it's not something I want to warn readers about- I think those who WANT to read it should do so without plot details (only the warnings). But, it is a story about revenge. It's a story about a murderous couple (the Sick Fux) who spill the blood of those who have wronged them. And it is a story that shows readers how bad child abuse can affect a person. There are clearly mental health issues going on in this novel as well, so keep your eyes opened to this so you can sympathize with the characters. After all, had they not been wronged they would have never ended up the way they are in this book.
